KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. – Apollo 12 Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean is shown on stark, rock-studded surface of the Moon’s Ocean of Storms during extravehicular exercise on November 19, 1969. At the right is the unit used to carry tools needed during the moon walk by Apollo 12 Commander Charles Conrad, Jr., and Bean. The Intrepid crew conducted two separate space walks during the mission, each lasting approximately three and one-half hours. Apollo 12 was launched from KSC at 11:22 a.m. on November 14.
