JOHNSON SPACE CENTER, HOUSTON
STS - 37 ON BOARD VIEW - - - Astronaut Jerry L. Ross (left) and Jerome (Jay) Apt, STS-37 mission specialist, participate in a lengthy extravehicular activity in Atlantis’ cargo bay. The two evaluated translation devices which could be predecessors of hardware to be used on Space Station Freedom. Here, the astronauts wave at the three crewmembers inside Atlantis’ cabin, one of whom took this photograph with a 35mm camera. This was one of the visuals used by the STS - 27 crewmembers during their April 19 post-flight press conference at the Johnson Space Center (JSC).
